Python Turbo Gears and Jython interop
In exploring Python as yet another alternative to software development, here are two links to articles I recently wrote on the subject, one is related to a Python web framework named Turbo Gears using Oracle as the backing database and the other to an interoperability mini-article exploring Python calls inside Java programs using Jython.

The article on Turbo Gears is focused on developing an end-to-end application using an existing Oracle Database, and includes step by step instructions as well as numerous code listings to get you started. This particular piece will likely be of interest for those evaluating the latest frameworks to take hold of the web application space -- like Ruby/Rails and Python/Django -- and of course any organization/start-up that wants to develop app's in one of these more novel frameworks while adhering to the more corp'ish Oracle DB product line.
You can read the intro at Using Python with TurboGears and the complete article on the Oracle Technology Network here: Using Python with TurboGears and Oracle .
The mini-article on Python calls inside Java is a very brief introduction on how you can embed Python code inside your Java classes via Jython, and benefit from Python's succinct syntax for describing certain logic that would otherwise take up more time/code to achieve using Java.
You can read the mini-article at Using Python within Java , and for related reading you can visit The Interoperability Blog hosted by TheServerSide.com .
